About the Downtown Council
|
The St. Cloud Downtown Council (DTC) is a not-for-profit 501(c)4 organization, supported by its members, whose mission is to serve as the effective voice for the concerns and interests of our members, while being the driving force for the economic and aesthetic vitality for Downtown through advocacy with government, public awareness and bringing resources to economic development.
The Downtown Council is dedicated to promoting the downtown area, building a neighborhood downtown, serving as a one-stop shop for information on downtown, and advocating the interests of local businesses and property owners. Contact Us...

CHANGE AGENT

We provide a forum for members to stay abreast of business and political changes that relate to Downtown and to cultivate a consensus for action. We manage the future of some of downtown's most important issues. And we're proud to say that we're highly effective.
Marketing and Promotion Services to enhance the image of Downtown St. Cloud by emphasizing the variety of services, events and amenities available, and by encouraging the public to live, work, play and visit downtown.
Parking and Transportation Services to provide the public with information about parking and public transportation while coordinating with the City and other organizations to develop efficient access to downtown for visitors, residents and employees.
Cleaning, Safety, and Beautification Services to enhance public perception about downtown, to provide hospitality resources, and to beautify the public space through landscape and streetscape improvements.
Advocacy Services to speak as a voice for downtown businesses, property owners, and other stakeholders on issues of importance to the future Downtown St. Cloud.

WHAT IS THE DOWNTOWN COUNCIL?

We often get asked what the Downtown Council is, what the Downtown Council does, why we have fundraisers, etc. We thought it would be fun to bust some of the myths about the lead Downtown organization. IT IS a long-standing organization incorporated in 1992 IT IS NOT new IT IS 23% of DTC membership are located outside of Downtown IT IS NOT only for businesses located Downtown IT IS 51% of DTC membership have 1-10 employees IT IS NOT only for large businesses IT IS private nonprofit membership organization [501(c)4] IT IS NOT a City or government agency IT IS member-driven, hands-on, economic development-oriented advocate for St. Cloud's Downtown IT IS NOT the Chamber of Commerce IT IS an urban management organization undertaking diverse strategies to create an economically healthy Downtown IT IS NOT a neighborhood association IT IS a partner with many organizations and government IT IS NOT alone in moving Downtown forward
